    The Claudius Regaud Institute opened a relaxing cyberspace on Monday 22nd March 2010. Computers with webcams connected to the Internet, home cinema and relaxing chairs are available for patients so that they can relax during treatment. It is the second part of the "CyberClaudius" operation, after the implementation of laptop computers in rooms to enable patients to communicate with their friends and family.

Jean-Pierre Armand, Director of the Claudius Regaud Institute is in charge of building the medical-scientific project for the University Cancer Clinic and advocating the relationship with and bringing towards innovative small and medium sized companies close to the aeronautical industry.

 

'Talking about breast cancer', Pink week in Toulouse

    For Pink October, the national month for breast cancer implemented by the National Cancer Institute since 2004, the Claudius Regaud Institute launched pink week, a week for communicating and providing information in Toulouse from the 10th to the 17th October. Implemented in partnership with the Kiosque Info Cancer Toulouse, la Mutualité Française Midi-Pyrénées, la Banque Populaire Midi-Pyrénées, l'Ecole Supérieure de Commerce Toulouse et la Dépêche du midi, the operation included a conference/forum where experts, including Professors Henri Roché and Chantal Largeteau from the Institute answered questions from the public. From the 5th October, Toulouse residents could post their questions on the website for la Dépêche du midi, articles and testimonies will appear in the newspaper during the week. Professor Henri Roché reported on the illness and new therapies during an interview with the regional newspaper.

Progress on work for Toulouse's cancer excellence centre

    For a press conference that was held on the 5th September, Philippe Douste-Blazy, initiator of the project and Pierre Cohen, Toulouse's mayor, reported on the progress of the project in Toulouse. The first buildings for the campus, those that will receive laboratory teams for P. Fabre and Sanofi-Aventis, will open their doors in the first semester of 2009. Construction work for the University Cancer Clinic, cancer excellence clinic that will include the Claudius Regaud Institute will begin at the end of 2008.
