The Clinical Research Unit is made up of a special hospital unit and the clinical trials office which carries out more than 100 phase I and phase II trials a year.

The hospital unit takes care of patients taking part in clinical trials by either admitting them or by treating them as outpatients in the Quercy-Gascogne department. The Clinical Trials Office meets regulatory requirements stipulated as part of the Public Health Law from August 9th 2004. It is made up of a team of 8 clinical research specialists and one clinical research technician. There are also opportunities for internships. A promotion unit is also part of the trials office and includes a data manager and a biostatistician to ensure correct management of internal promotions.
