If you are not satisfied with your care, please contact the doctor or person responsible for your care. If this does not resolve the problem, you can also meet the person in charge of user relations to lodge your complaint or claim.

She will ensure that your complaint or claim is handled according to regulations outlined in the Public Health Code (articles R.1112-91 to R.1112-94 of the Public Health Code are enforced). She creates the link between the User Relations Commission and the quality of care. Where appropriate, she may put you in contact with a mediatory doctor or non doctor who is a member of the commission. The mediator(s) will meet you (and possibly your family) to discuss the problems you have encountered. In addition to the mediators, the URC is made up of the Institute's Director and two user representatives. A list of the URC's members can be found on display boards in all care departments.

The URC's aim is to ensure that your rights are respected and to help you with your complaints and claims. The Commission might be required to investigate your complaint or claim in certain situations. It must also recommend measures to improve care and support for hospitalised patients and their relatives to the Institute. In order to make these recommendations, the URC relies on your complaints, claims, comments and proposals: this is why it is very important that you let us know if you are satisfied or not.
