If you are going to undergo a surgical operation, please comply with preoperative hygiene instructions you have been given during your medical consultation. NB you are advised not to bring and keep valuable items with you during your hospital stay (cash, credit/debit card, jewellery etc.). You can leave them in a safety deposit box when you are admitted. If not, they remain your responsibility for the entirety of your stay.
It is forbidden to use a mobile phone during your hospital stay.
When you are admitted to the department, the care team will welcome you and settle you into your room.
A nurse collects all information relevant to your care, creates your medical record and explains the course of your stay (planned examinations, treatment methods, preoperative preparation, length of your stay etc.)
The day you arrive, you will be visited by the department doctor.
During the stay
The doctor visits you at least once a day and more often if necessary.
Prescribed treatments are planned and/or administered by the nurse who monitors you.
The medical team is always available to respond to your requests during your stay.
Discharge authorisation is given after the doctor's visit
The doctor writes prescriptions and prepares the necessary documents for your medical care.
The health executive and nurse organise the different elements of your discharge, organise your next appointment and the documents you require to continue treatment at home.
Monitoring
Depending on your doctor's opinion, when you are discharge you will enter a monitoring program. In most cases, it consists of offering you consultations or examinations a few weeks after your treatment. At the beginning, these consultations and examinations will occur quite often. Over time they will occur less and less. The doctor will explain how they will be carried out. They could be carried out at the Institute or at another institution. When the Claude Regaud Institute is responsible, appointment times are sent to your home address following the doctor's recommendations.
