Pain Treatment

Whether being treated as an outpatient or in hospital, taking care of pain is a priority for the Institute's teams. Everything possible is done to locate, assess and relieve pain. Care and medical teams are always available to listen and implement the most suitable treatment.

How is pain dealt with at the Institute?

  • The Institute has set up a Committee for fighting pain that develops programs every year for treating pain.
  • Pain Specialists, are doctors who are specialised in the treatment of pain. These doctors are available to help you.
  • Pain referral paramedics (nurses, care assistants, technicians etc.) work in each department and can assist with pain treatment. Psychologists, relaxation therapists and physiotherapists might also assist.
  • Programs for dealing with pain are regularly evaluated. All carers take part in yearly training sessions for dealing with pain.

You can meet with associations of former patients and representatives from religious groups at the Institute.
