A rapid process from the 1st February 2010

From diagnosis to treatment proposal in just one week. When an abnormality is found in a breast, the Institute implements a “rapid process.” The aim of this process is to carry out all the necessary examinations in order to come up with a precise diagnosis and to be able to propose the most suitable treatment in just one week.

This approach involves a multidisciplinary team of medics (radiologists, surgeons, medical oncologists, anesthetists and anatomical pathologists), and paramedics (nurses, social workers, psychologists and radio technicians), specialised in breast diseases.

Key milestones in the process:

  • The first medical consultation takes place on a Monday or Tuesday morning;
  • Additional examinations can take place throughout the day;
  • With the help of all this information, the medical file will be discussed on a Thursday night during the multidisciplinary consultation meeting;
  • On Friday or the following Monday the medical team will be ready to offer a suitable treatment program
